Computer projectors in the classroom are replacing the old overhead projectors.  It is just another case of technology taking over and providing more benefits.

Computer projectors can display images, text, and videos.  Whatever can be seen on the computer screen can be projected on to a screen or the wall. The advantage is that an entire presentation can be built on the computer and then shown on the wall via the projector.  The presenter has a wide selection of soft- ware that can be used to develop an outstanding presentation.

Word could be used for text, Excel for spreadsheets and Power Point to make a series of slides using all of these soft wares.   In addition images can be part of the slide show.   Maps and satellite images could be incorporated.  Just about anything you can make appear on a computer screen, can be projected.

This allows viewers to see it at the same time.  This helps show or teach a topic to a large crowd.  It is efficient and saves time.

Videos can also be displayed with the accompanying sound.  The computer projector has changed the way we teach and explain topics to a diverse audience.  Better yet it can be done all at once to a body of people.

The days of the overhead projector are remembered fondly, but this single improvement for a classroom has been a huge step forward.  The computer projector has made teaching easier and more enjoyable.  This translates into better-educated students.   This method of information display gets the message across.
